Assistant Professor Şenol Pişkin from The Department of Mechanical Engineering Attended a Plastic Surgery for a Collaborational Study

Our Modeling, Simulation, and Extended Reality (ISU XR) Research Group at Istinye University continues to pioneer translational health sciences by combining clinical expertise with advanced computational tools. Recently, we took a significant step in this direction by collaborating with renowned plastic surgeons on a simulation-based approach to enhance surgical planning and outcomes.

The surgery, performed by Dr. Süreyya Şeneldir at the American Hospital, was attended by Dr. Irmak Uçak from Liv Hospital Vadi. During this procedure, our team conducted detailed measurements and planning to develop high-fidelity computational simulations that align with patient-specific needs.

This effort is part of our broader mission to bridge clinical and computational sciences, leveraging tools like finite element analysis, virtual reality, and patient-specific modeling to create innovative healthcare solutions. The insights from this collaboration will also contribute to ongoing studies conducted by our team of researchers and students, further advancing the field of personalized healthcare.

We extend our gratitude to Dr. Süreyya Şeneldir and Dr. Irmak Uçak for their invaluable contributions and look forward to future collaborations that will push the boundaries of translational medicine.
