Istinye University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (MDBF) adopts the principle of working towards increasing the efficiency and quality of both education and R&D activities and strengthening collaborations, and acts in accordance with the principles of continuous improvement.

Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences continues its work to support both the research and education quality policies of our university with its academicians, who carry out research and development activities in both fundamental and natural sciences and engineering. Our faculty members perform these studies while they produce R&D outputs within ethical norms, with the awareness of academic freedom and responsibility, without distinguishing between language, religion, race, gender and disabilities, and contribute to student-centered education. It supports a student-centered approach with branded courses that provide industry experience and flow of information. It prepares students for the industry, including teamwork, by encouraging students to apply to various project support programs such as TÜBİTAK 2209 University Students Research Projects support program. In line with the goal of continuous improvement of our education policies, it participates in MÜDEK and FEDEK accreditation evaluation processes, takes the necessary steps, and always seeks to be better by considering the opinions and suggestions of external stakeholders.

Our faculty prioritized having a sustainable structure that is passed on to its students in various ways by making unique contributions to science with innovation and technology development activities centered on artificial intelligence, working together with different disciplines, establishing collaborations with both academia and industry at national and international levels, producing rich and high-quality R&D outputs and sharing the experiences gained from all activities.

While determining the R&D policies of our faculty, our university's vision, goals, targets, strengths and weaknesses of our faculty, opportunities that will increase the R&D potential, threats that will affect the quality level and sustainability of R&D outputs are considered and documents and reports published by institutions and organizations that monitor and measure R&D activities such as TÜBİTAK and URAP are taken into consideration. The published documents, reports and the R&D outputs of our faculty are evaluated and reviewed at regular intervals and the R&D policies of our faculty are updated within the framework of the principle of continuous improvement.
