Entrepreneurial Engineers Host 'Entrepreneurship Summit'

The “Entrepreneurship Summit,” organized by the Entrepreneurial Engineers Club at our university, was successfully held with great interest from both expert speakers and students.

The event, filled with inspiring speeches and experience sharing from the world of entrepreneurship, began with opening remarks by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saliha Usta Karadayı, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences and Head of the Industrial Engineering Department. Karadayı stated, “Every entrepreneurial journey begins with a small idea. Over time, that idea grows, matures, and evolves into a venture that addresses a specific need. Sometimes your idea may transform into something completely different. The incubation period might yield positive or negative results, but what truly matters is trying. If you have an idea, you’re always welcome to reach out to our center. We are here to support you on this journey. I would like to thank all the students who contributed to today’s summit.”

Club President Özgür Ozan Dilber, a third-year Industrial Engineering student, also spoke at the event, saying: “Entrepreneurship is not just about generating ideas; it’s about identifying a problem and having the courage to solve it. It is a process that requires multidimensional thinking and a solution-oriented mindset. Today’s summit includes topics ranging from law and digital production to brand management and startup experiences. I hope it proves to be beneficial for all of us.”

In the first session of the summit, successful lawyer Av. Atakan Karataş delivered a presentation titled “The Relationship Between Innovation and Law.” Karataş emphasized that “All entrepreneurship processes must at some point comply with legal frameworks.” He shared in-depth knowledge on emerging legal fields such as IT law, e-commerce law, startup law, personal data protection law, AI law, IoT and robotics law, as well as software and coding law.

During the mentoring session, entrepreneur İlayda Bilek shared her valuable insights on what to consider when launching a startup, brand promotion processes, and methods of entrepreneurship, providing essential advice for future entrepreneurs.

Ataberk Özaydın, co-founder of the Istinye-based startup “Makromucis,” shared his entrepreneurial journey, explaining how he ventured into the startup world as a student and the various experiences he encountered along the way.

In the final session, entrepreneurial influencer Ahmet Kaya Öztürk discussed how he founded the Content Creator Academy, outlining the steps he took to bring his initiative to life.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the students who contributed to the organization of this inspiring summit, which shed light on the entrepreneurial journey, as well as to all our distinguished guests.
