The ‘AgeSA IT Leaders of the Future’ event was held by the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Department of Industrial Engineering on 14-18 March 2025 at the Vadi H Campus Conference Hall with the intense participation of students.
Delivering the opening speech at the training programme organised by Sabancı Youth Mobilization, Head of Industrial Engineering Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saliha Karadayı Usta noted that students should ask what they are curious about and left the lectern to Seval Okur, AgeSA Agile Governance Manager. Speaking about her sectoral experiences, Okur explained the technology and innovation ecosystem of Sabancı Youth Mobilization. She said that young people can receive support within the scope of the project to become new leaders, entrepreneurs and researchers in line with their goals and expectations, and gave information about the event programme and speakers by talking about the career journey in IT.
Duygu Sevim Aksoy, AgeSA IT HR Business Partner, conveyed CV preparation techniques and showed sample CVs to the students with her speech within the scope of ‘IT Career Journey’. She expressed the mistakes frequently made in job applications and stated the points that should be on the CV step by step. He underlined that a short and clear CV should be prepared. Afterwards, he expressed the critical topics for the candidates who came to the interview stage and carried out interview simulations. He shared important issues that new graduate candidates should pay attention to in job interviews and affect employers. It was discussed that appropriate and consistent answers should be given to critical questions. Stating that internship is an important experience for university students, Aksoy added that it is necessary to fill the CV sufficiently.
Corporate IT World Met with Our Students
In the second part of the event, Devrim Zimba, AgeSA IT Support Systems Director, shared the developments in the business world with the topic ‘Corporate IT World’. He shared what students expect in the sector and how engineering graduates are active in the IT sector.
Ceren Türkyılmaz, AgeSA Agile Coach, talked about the methods and processes followed for the planning, execution and successful completion of projects with her presentation ‘Project Management Methodologies’. Providing comprehensive information about international certificates, Türkyılmaz stated that value-oriented studies are carried out. Starting from the basic concepts of the project, he evaluated the business processes through a sample project.
Group Head of Channels and Platform Software Technologies Figen Özmen took the students back to the 1960s on digital trends. She discussed the innovations that entered our lives and touched upon the transformative effect of technology in the business world.
At the end of the event, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Prof. Dr. Mehmet Alper Tunga thanked all the speakers and noted that it was a productive event for the students.
