The student club Medical Artificial Intelligence (Medical AI), established as part of İstinye University with the objective to develop artificial intelligence in medicine, kicked off its introduction meeting in the university’s Topkapı campus. Opening speeches were given by Prof. Dr. Çetin Kaya, Engineering Faculty Dean, and Academic Member Dr. Mustafa Mısır, where Dr. Muharrem Usta, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, also gave a speech. Emphasizing that they do science for products, Dr. Muharrem Usta went on to elaborate “The largest investments in the world for artificial intelligence are made in the health sector. Software and computers are essential parts of any health organization. Wherever you go you will always arrive at a point of ultimate artificial intelligence and there is no running away from that. Of course you need to do well in your profession and your core purpose must be to create value. Science is for creating value.”
