Prof.
Hüseyin Ozan Tekin

He was born in Malatya in 1987. He graduated from Süleyman Demirel University, Department of Physics in 2009 with a BS degree. During his undergraduate education, he studied at Siuliai University, Lithuania, with different European Union (EU) scholarships. He earned his Master's Degree in Nuclear Physics in 2009 and a PhD in 2014. During his master's and Ph.D, he was responsible for modeling the equipment of the Bremsstrahlung Experiment area with Monte Carlo simulation techniques for the Turkish Accelerator Center (TARLA) project. During his postgraduate education, he participated in studies in the Bremsstrahlung experimental area in Helmholtz Zentrum Dresden Rossendorf (HZDR), Germany. He received the title of Assistant Professor in 2015 and Associate Professor in 2018. He served as the Chairman of the Scientific Board of the Turkish Medical Radiotechnology Association (TMRT-Der) and the European Education Director of the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT). He continued his duties as the establishment and director of the Üsküdar University Medical Radiation Research Center (USMERA) between 2015-2019. He received the "Prof. Dr. Sevket Erk Young Scientist Award" given by the Turkish Physical Society in 2018..In the list of the most influential scientists published by Jeroen Baas and his team, he was selected in 2% Top Scientists, two years in a row due to his publications and citations. Tekin is also the scientific advisor of the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia. He use General-Purpose MCNP Monte Carlo radiation transport code. He has performed many new geometry and simulation designs in the field of Nuclear Physics and Medical applications. He works with groups from different countries of the world in the design and optimization of new materials for radiation shielding. He carries out studies on the application of mathematical models and computer aided physical solutions to Nuclear Physics problems and solution methods. He carries out editorial duties in many different international journals. Tekin is married and has one child.
