Biomedical engineering is an engineering discipline focused on providing solutions to problems regarding patient health and health services through collaboration with medicine, basic sciences, engineering, economics, and social sciences. To this end, biomedical engineering aims to provide new technologies and solutions to meet diagnostic and therapeutic needs.
Department of Biomedical Engineering has been established in 2021 within the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences in the Vadi Campus, with the strong support provided by Anadolu Vakfi, Liv Hospital, Medical Park and VM Medical Park hospitals, which are under the same framework with the İstinye University. Department of Biomedical Engineering is the most important bridge between the Faculty of Medicine and Institute of Health Sciences, and the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences.
In Department of Biomedical Engineering, we aim to bring our engineer candidates up as modern individuals who develop technologies, utilize research techniques and master product development and production processes. It is our greatest desire to have among us a new generation biomedical engineers who can utilize the new opportunities of stem cell, biomaterials, nanotechnology, smart drug delivery systems and tissue engineering, as well as information technologies, such as augmented reality, internet of things and artificial intelligence.
