Chemistry, which is one of the most important branches of science in supporting industrial and technological developments in the world, has only recently been understood in our country, and will become an important sector by increasing its importance in the coming years. In order for chemical science to become an important sector, it is necessary for the science of chemistry to produce solutions to related problems, to use research methods at national and international level, to help spread science and technology, and to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life in our country.
As Istinye University Chemistry Department, our primary goal is to train chemists who have the knowledge and skills required by their profession, who can reach the sources of the past and the current in the most effective way, who can produce new and original data in areas where resources are insufficient, and who have professional and ethical responsibility. For this purpose, with our dynamic and innovative staff, we are trying to provide our students with an interrogative, investigative and enterprising chemist approach by conducting projects and teamwork that will ensure the participation of the student in addition to the necessary theoretical and applied vocational training.
Chemistry learning helps the student to develop the ability to formulate chemical and technological problems, analyze data, compile research items, develop a broad and deep understanding of areas of chemistry, and develop scientific process skills.
Chemistry Department of Istinye University offers its students a high-quality education environment where they can develop their personal knowledge and skills, and be noticed not only in the field of chemistry, but also in every field, while teaching innovative developments in chemistry. Our department aims to train candidates of chemists and scientists who have gained scientific thinking and are open to developments, equipped with world-class knowledge and skills. For this purpose, besides the laboratory applications, the use of modern analysis methods is also transferred to the students with the contribution of the powerful laboratory equipment of our university.
Chemistry is a science that can design chemical processes using basic sciences and solve important industrial, technological and environmental problems. Chemist is the person who designs and develops processes that economically transform raw materials into products as a result of physical and chemical events. In this sense, the working areas of chemists are very wide and they have the opportunity to find jobs in areas such as food sector, cement sector, textile sector, pharmaceutical sector.
